From Building Our Best to Pyeong-Chang! Three BC Athletes bound for Korea

Congratulations to BC's very own, Braydon Luscombe, Mel Pemble and Alex Cairns for their recent selection to the Paralympic roster for the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeong-Chang, South Korea.

All three of these young athletes started their racing journey with BC Adaptive Snowsports, participating in various programs from the Building Our Best race development camps and the BC Para-alpine Ski Team.

Braydon will be attending his second Paralympic Games and has been a member of the National Team since 2011 and began skiing at Mt Washington at the age of 6. Mel began skiing at 9 and is also an alumni of the Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports program at Mt Washington. Mel raced with both the Mt. Washington ski club and the BC Para-alpine ski team for a few years before being selected to the Canadian Para-alpine Development ski team in 2016. This will be her first Paralympic Games. Alex started skiing in Whistler and joined the BC Para-alpine Ski Team in 2011 before graduating to the National Team in 2016.

Make sure to cheer on these home grown athletes, and the rest of the Canadian Para-alpine ski team when competition starts in Korea on March 9th. CBC will broadcast events online, Alpine Canada will provide updates on Facebook and Instagram and we will make sure to update our own channels with highlights!
