BC Adaptive Snowsports announces the 2015-2016 edition of BCPAST

Congratulations to Landon McGauley, Mark Robertson, Melissa Pemble, Chelaine McInroy and Amanda Timm on being selected to the BC Para-alpine Ski Team for the 2015-2016 Season.

This season will see the return of Quesnel athlete Landon McGauley and Armstrong sit-skier Chelaine McInroy. Mark Robertson and Melissa Pemble join the team this year as development athletes, graduating from the Prospect Program after great performances at Canada Games and showing consistent effort and drive throughout last season. New to BC’s team is Amanda Timm, a Calgary native who recently moved to BC to pursue her para-alpine career.

The athletes are all following summer training plans that include cross-training sports such as rowing and cycling. The first camp is schedule for November and will be followed closely by the first race of the season in Panorama in early December. While it is still not finalized, the current program for the team will have them on snow for over 80 days this season and include 14 race starts.

“The goal of the program is to provide each and every one of these athletes the training and race opportunities to progress them to the National Team.” Says John Newton, Provincial Head Coach.

With all the elements in place, all we need now is for mother nature to come out to play!
