All Mountain Camp Sun Peaks - smashing success

The BC Adaptive Snowsports and Rocky Mountain Adaptive Snowsports All Mountain Camp took place in Sun Peaks last weekend. The event which brought together 30 participants with disabilities featured skiers and snowboarders from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan raging in age from 10-65 years old!

The four day event offered participants the opportunity to train in race environments in the morning with Alpine Canada's Para-alpine Athlete and Sport Development Manager Mark Newton and guest coach and paralympic champion Josh Dueck. Jamie McCulloch from Rocky Mountain Adaptive led the on-snow afternoon sessions which gave the participants a chance to explore different terrain and have some fun. Day 3 & 4 brought lots of powder, cancelling race training but providing lots of opportunities for learning in those conditions we don't often get graced with!

A dinner on Saturday night brought everyone together for some tacos and prizes!

A second camp of the season is planned at Sunshine Village, April 12-15! Registration is now open and space is limited to 30 people. Please email Fannie Smith at fannie@bcadaptive.com if you want to come.
